Glad to hear that. We've had descent service and a good unit and the guy who was doing the talking definitely had an agenda. Our next unit will be a 5er and now I can get his bull crap out of the back of my mind. I thank you Sir! Almost forgot to add sorry about the lemon though.

Interesting stories guys.
I know, from random conversations over the years with the SA, that they don’t get paid well for warranty work from Jayco.
I really am curious now if Jayco even knows about this.
My extended warranty is now covering the slide issue. I didn’t want to use the extended warranty because I get my money back at the end, but I now realize I won’t have this trailer after 7 years so I might as well use it. But now it’s just the principle of it...Jayco SHOULD be fixing it. THEY should be losing the money for producing such shoddy work.

As for the furnace issue.. extended warranty won’t cover it because it isn’t a “broken” part. Again...Jayco build problems.

For those who have called Jayco, who is the best person/department to talk to?
Whoever answers the phone I’m sure could careless what I have to say, and I’m sure the person I get transferred to could careless too.

This is how bad Jayco is

Very sorry to read about your problem. I had a pretty decent experience with Jayco. I worked with Austin Paulus, 1-866-709-9139. Please don’t treat him like the enemy. He was very fair with me. He may be limited to Eagle products. Best of luck.
Regarding furnace, Jayco helped me.

It' all a crapshoot, boys! All a crapshoot. Emphasize "Crap" for sure!

Dealer/Schmeler, Warranty/Schmauranty, Quality Assurance, Oh what devotion! - Oh yeah, Mr. Product Man, play me the tune - that sweet you love me song about all the ways you care.

Just gotta lace em' up; hit as hard as you can for as long as you can; keep yer head on a swivel; play every hand you know; be grateful for what works; and don't let it cause yer last stroke.

Leastin' that's how I sees it.

I had a rear wall delaminating under warranty and the dealer told me that it was denied by Jayco. I called Jayco personally. They told me that the dealer wanted a rediculous amount of man hours to do the repair and that is why it was denied. Once I called the dealer out on this information my rear wall got replaced.

FYI Jayco allowed 8 hrs for the repair and the dealer wanted 15 hrs. I think some dealers want to make money off of the warranty repairs.

Call Jayco. They were much more comforting than the dealer.

This is why everyone needs to call Jayco when a dealer says Jayco won't cover it, find out the truth.

We traded a 2004 Holiday Rambler Presidential for our 2015 Jayco. Worst mistake since we took up the rv lifestyle. We like the roominess and for that matter the whole unit but it is the ONLY one we have owned that has had quality and workmanship issues.

How well did Jayco and your dealer take care of your issues?

By the way, what is GBO? Greensboro, NC?

The dealer and Jayco dropped the ball on the first issue at 4 months of ownership. Contacted Lippert and they took care of it. Two Jayco dealers have done warranty work that was acceptable for what they did. The latest issue last month took two attempts to get it right, 4 weeks at the dealer and required about 8 screws to be removed for the belly cover to drop down for access. Really upset to find out that they cut it and attempted a tape job. I'll remove and replace the damaged belly cover when it gets here. An airstream dealer bench tested my furnace after it quit. Two wires were partially cut and causing a short when they came in contact with the fan after the Jayco dealer failed to tyrap them. He refused to let me pay him. I'll likely buy my next unit from his dealership.

The last time it was sent back to me unfixed, on the service order the tech wrote “slide works better than most I’ve seen. No action necessary”.
I was still in warranty when I brought it in. Three months later, when I got it back, I wasn’t in warranty.
AGAIN I took it home. On the same day as picked it up I worked the slide...this time it jammed and grinded to a stop.
I took a video of how it works for 6” worth of travel and sent it to the dealer.
Long story short...I need a whole new Schwintek ...Jayco won’t cover it.

To top it all off, while I was still in warranty, the secret button on my furnace kept popping. Anyone who knows, knows what a PITA it is to turn that back on.
Dealer fixed that with warranty (new circuit board put in) ...but I didn’t get the unit back until last spring, and never used the furnace again until last December (out of warranty)
Long story short...it still kept popping the switch...turns out the furnace wasn’t ducted properly and over heating the unit. (I TOLD THEM THAT WAS THE PROBLEM WHEN I BROUGHT IT THE FIRST TIME)...Jayco denied warranty and I have to pay $475
Sorry you have to deal with all that. I hate the big kitchen slide in my unit as well. I keep saying that is the one that is going to get me stuck somewhere when I cant get it back in. I bring up to the dealer every time I am in for service and I get the same response. Nothing wrong with it and that is how they work. Same thing they tell me about wrinkled awning fabric and the arms that do not come out when you extend the awning. I also had the furnace issue, and they replaced the board as well and it still does not work. I will have to bring up the ducting you mentioned. Any detail on what I can tell them as to what the issue would be with the ducting?

Sorry, I don’t know yet what they did to the ducting (or whatever they did)..I’m still waiting on the new Schwintek. I only had an update as to what was happening.
My slide was going in two inches at a time on the fridge side. I would have to stop retracting when the fridge side would stop..then start again and go another 2”...then let off...then go another 2”.. then stop...until it was over halfway in, then it would carry on. The tv side had no problem.
It eventually got worse and the motor body on the frige side would spin 3/4 of a revolution when activated, and the opposite way when pressing the switch for the opposite direction... eventually it all grinded to a hault...with some disturbing noise.

My awning arms stick too sometimes. If you have the first generation of Carefree awning they put on the 2016’s and your awning arms make a thunderous train type of noise, then there is a fix for that.

Klassic - did you get your Schwintek fixed yet?

Yes.
I just got the trailer back now.
The schwintek was fixed a few weeks ago, but it was also there to have the furnace fixed too
They failed on the $500 furnace fix so I had to bring it back for another 3week wait.

They replaced all the schwintek parts $2500.
But I had to pay for new seals...???
Extended warranty paid. Even though this was an on going issue since new. I had it in 3 times when it was under warranty for them to fix the slide

I think most of the negative warranty results or coverage is a dealer problem. I had several warranty issues resolved with a local dealer (not the one I bought it from) and never had a refusal of work. I read on this site of someone that had floor squeaks and Jayco refused to cover it. I also had floor squeaks and the dealer had no problem getting Jayco to cover the work. I did have a problem with a dealer in AZ when my microwave went out. The dealer wanted me to bring in the RV and leave it for several days while it was repaired. I called Jayco direct and told them we were living in the RV at the time and they sent out a mobile repair guy to get it fixed. Still took about 2 weeks to get done because they had to order parts. If you think you have warranty problems with Jayco take it to another dealer. Ask for some recommendations for a good dealer on this site. Should be someone that knows a good dealer wherever you may be.

Did u get the 400 to 1 motors and steel shafts or the same 300 to 1 and normal shafts. When at the service center I asked them about upgrading mine and they said NO it causes more problems. They said they adjusted mine and I asked how do u do that. They never answered except to say u can move them just a little up and down. The big thick black Teflon type pads they installed where my rollers run seem to have made it smoother.
I did notice I can see daylight where the seal bends around the pads but just a little. Found a neat trick I used my blower to blow all the junk out that collects under the slides. Blow from the inside out.
