Since you had a 6.0 would you worry about towing the 15k# NorthPoint across the country? Curious, what state are you in if you do not mind sharing? I gather by your handle in Southeast....

I’m in Texas. Northwest Houston. When we took our trailer to the mountains of west Texas (elevation of about 6800’) I never felt the truck had enough oomph going up the mountain. I religiously monitored everything and one thing I noticed was the truck was always at 90%+ load going up. I had 4.10 gears, no cat, EGR delete and a mild tow tune. No matter what I did, I always seemed to pop a turbo boot. Wife got tired of me having to do roadside repairs every time we went out west. So, she told me to get rid of it. I really didn’t want to because I loved that truck, especially after all the work and mods I did to it.
Had I been smart, I would have gotten some mishimoto boots or something other than stock replacement boots. But, now I have a 14 F350 and it’s been absolutely the best truck I’ve ever had.
The 6.0 can do the job just fine. Just don’t get in a hurry and make sure you have all your upgrades in place (as you seem to already have) and you’ll be fine.

I tow our 377RLBH with a 2013 RAM 3500 4X4 SRW. So at so good. The truck is my daily driver; a dually would be a PITA for the work commute.

I installed the wet bolt kit and X-brace. I have the stock CRE3000. I think the wet bolts and HD shackles are a must. The plastic stock bushings are junk and wear out very quickly. I’m happy with how my trailer tows. I’m not 100% sure of the effects of adding the X brace cross member but it does add extra strength and stability to the shackles so I would definitely add it as well.

Tom, they are now Roadmaster shocks. Real beefy......plan on putting them on my Pinnacle when it comes in.

The last I heard is that the completion date is scheduled for March 26 and then they have to transport it to the dealer here in Washington. I expect we could take delivery maybe the first week in April. The waiting is the hard part.......we're anxious to hit the road!

Thanks. GVW is over. We're at 12100. Axle weights are good (5020 and 7080)

What is the rear axle rating on your Ford? My RAM 3500 SRW that I traded in on the DRW was only rated at 7,000 lbs.

Newbie looking for right truck to pull 377rlbh
Hello party people,
I was wondering if any of you would have a call with me about your experience pulling with SRW and why you moved up to DRW. I'm currently looking for a truck to pull this monster and want to get set up "right" the first time.
Safety first for me and with that being said, is it simply DRW is more safe?

What do you want to know? I went from a '14 Ram 2500 to a '16 Ram 3500 DRW...best decision I've ever made! The DW has never driven the combo, but can tell the difference in stability from the passenger seat. Last year I had my 1st tire blow out on the 5er and a section of the inner rear dually tire lose a section of tread...all on the same trip back home. Lets just say it wasn't fun, but I was thankful to have the dually!

Get a dually and be done with it. You won’t regret it. IMHO yes a dually is the safer choice

I was going to borrow my buddies 14 Ram 2500 for a year so we didn't have to buy a truck as well as this pricey 5er. We'll just jump full in and we're working on a F350 to pull our new baby.
